So, How DO You Manage Your Mood?

With a blog site title of “Mood & Magic”, I bet you are wondering “How exactly do I manage my mood”? I have been asking myself this very question for many, many years. While I wish I had the secret potion all measured out for you, I will share that it’s quite the personal adventure with lots of work and discipline.

I have done lots of research through the years looking for posts just like this; seeing how others have learned to cope and manage their emotions. This method is two fold: It’s GREAT to gather information and see what tools other folks are using. What is NOT SO GREAT about reading what others do is that it creates a comparison.

Bipolar Disorder does not the look the same to every person who has it!

While symptoms are similar, there is not one single person who experiences the disorder the same. This is based off of many factors such as:

  • Age
  • Gender/Gender Identification
  • Home life
  • Family/friends support
  • Access to healthcare
  • Other medical conditions

What folks with BD DO have in common is that stigma and uncertainty of the disorder. Stigma has the power to de-rail progress, self-esteem, and confidence in living successfully.

So, how do you manage your mood?

It starts with understanding your cycle, factors, behaviors, and emotions. Track your moods! Keep a journal of your emotions and what times of day they are happening, who they are happening with. Managing your mood requires you to be honest with yourself and emotions. AND, it just so happens that I am working on a Mood Journal workshop for you to help get you into a good routine! Can’t wait until the workshop drops? Email me….I will get you started:)
